Myofascial Release
Myofascial release (MFR) therapy focuses on releasing muscular shortness and tightness.
Many patients seek myofascial treatment after losing flexibility, following an injury or if experiencing ongoing leg, back, shoulder or hip pain.
Our physical therapy team will talk with you, often the same day you feel the tightness in your muscles, to understand what is hurting and to make sure the myofascial release is the best course of treatment for your pain.
One of our therapists will measure the level of loss of motion or loss of symmetry in the body. If myofascial release is recommended, you will go through a course of treatment that includes 30-50 minute sessions daily or every few days at our clinic. Our certified physical therapists will perform the release using their experience and taking the time to understand how you're feeling and where the pain is located at each session. It can take several sessions over the course of a month or longer for myofascial release to be effective.
Graston Technique
Our physical therapy team include certification in the Graston Technique. This is an innovative form of myofascial release that uses instruments to mobilize the soft tissues and break down scar tissue. The technique uses specially designed, stainless steel instruments used to detect and effectively treat areas that show signs of soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
