SROSM sponsored the 5th Annual Snapping Tortuga Race on October 22nd. The Snapping Tortuga Race is an open water swim on Lake Conroe. Entrants from around the country participated in three race distances, 1250m, 2.5k and 5k. Many participants use this race as part of their training for triathlons including the Ironman competitions. The event was a success with fun competition, dedicated volunteers, a great race course and terrific food.
The next Snapping Tortuga race is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017 on Lake Conroe. The race is expected to sell out early since it will be just 2 weeks before Ironman Texas. The race is a great opportunity to fine tune your open water skill set in a race!
