Julie Tillman, PTA

Julie is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and a native Texan. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2016 at Blinn College’s Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associate of Applied Science. Julie joined Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics soon after.

Julie was raised in Tomball, Texas and homeschooled through high school. Julie’s interest in sports medicine stemmed from her love of ballet which she began studying at the age of 3. She began dancing at a pre-professional level with Houston Repertoire Ballet at the age of 14. She was accepted into a number of summer study programs throughout the U.S and at the age of 16 studied through the summer with Washington Ballet. Julie began teaching ballet at just 17 which at the time made her the youngest instructor on staff. She has taught ballet throughout studios in greater Houston and Washington County, and continues to implement her knowledge into her current practice at SROSM.

During her time in PTA school Julie studied under both ATC and DPTs highly specialized in Sports medicine which allowed her to further her knowledge of sports medicine and to treat a broad range of high level athletes. Since graduating from PTA school Julie has continued to broaden her knowledge base to include a certification in Rock Blade’s Fascial Movement Taping (FMT), and a kinesiology taping certification for both basic and performance level injuries. In addition she has been certified in Rock Blade’s Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) which covers screening dysfunctional movement patterns and the application of soft tissue tools and myofascial work to improve patient outcome. As an athlete she thrives on assisting others to return to the activities and sports they love and her passion for sports grows with this fulfillment. She is grateful that her time at SROSM has allowed her to be close to two of her greatest passions, ballet and physical therapy.
