Dr. Matthew Reid is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He grew up in The Woodlands and is excited to return to the area to serve the community as part of Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. He went to Texas A&M University as a Presidential Endowed Scholar where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science. He furthered his education by completing medical school and orthopaedic surgery training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. After finishing residency, Dr. Reid completed his Orthopaedic Sports Medicine fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital during which time he had the privilege of caring for the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Rice University athletic teams, and local high school athletes.
Dr. Reid’s areas of focus include repair of cartilage and ligament injuries to the knee, rotator cuff tears, AC separations, and biceps/quad/patellar tendon injuries. Additionally, he performs shoulder and knee joint replacement surgeries and acute fracture care for upper and lower extremity fractures.
Dr. Reid and his wife live in The Woodlands with their two sons. They enjoy exploring area parks, bike rides, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
