April 25, 2016 - The Woodlands, TX -- Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is pleased to announce the addition of William J. Jordan, M.D. to the staff. Dr. Jordan, a native of the Houston area, received his degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston. He then re-joined the Army where he previously served as an infantry officer. While active military he completed his residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center and Texas Tech Health Science Center in El Paso, Texas.
Dr. Jordan is a decorated Army veteran who completed two Middle East tours of duty during which he served as an orthopedic surgeon and oversaw the treatment of hundreds of combat casualties from coalition forces, special operations forces, local national civilians and enemy combatants. He also worked at Ft. Hood where he focused almost entirely on sports medicine related issues for the active duty military.
He was twice awarded the Bronze Star Medal and holds numerous other decorations including the Combat Action Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.
Dr. Jordan retired from the Army in 2014 and has returned to Texas where he now makes The Woodlands and Spring area his home. He joined the SROSM staff as an orthopedic surgeon with a specialization in sports medicine, trauma, arthroscopy, and arthroplasty of all major joints. He views surgical intervention as only one step in the path to wellness and recovery and relies heavily upon patient interaction and investment in care.
