Srosm Be

Sterling Ridge Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine proudly supported Team SROSM in the 2014 BP MS 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin. The team consisted of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, practice staff and friends of SROSM. All 22 riders completed the 150-mile event with the support of staff and family members who worked side by side with the riders to meet the practice's fundraising goal.

Over half of Team SROSM was riding in the event for the first time including Dr. Keith Johnson, Dr. Brian Flowers and Dr. Bill Jackson. Team training was organized so that new riders could learn from their teammates about participating in the event and so that the entire team could stay focused on their mission of raising funds to support research for multiple sclerosis (MS). First-time riders commented that participating as a team made it possible for them to reach their goal and contribute to a great cause.

Practice staff that wasn't riding in the race contributed to the practice's effort by fundraising, providing snacks and drinks to the riders during the race, and even setting up overnight accommodations so the team could stay together all weekend.

"We are so proud of our staff for their commitment to such a great cause," said Dr. Keith Johnson. "Whether they were riding, cheering or fundraising, we were able to give back to our community as a team. We're really looking forward to doing this again next year."
